Location: Raigarh, Chhattisgarh

Purpose:

Lead quality control operations with unwavering objectivity, ensuring both chemical and physical properties of raw materials and finished goods meet specifications while managing lab team effectively and maintaining strict ethical boundaries with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Planning

• Schedule 24x7 lab coverage aligned with production shifts and RM receipts
• Allocate chemists/technicians between RM testing (truck arrivals) and FG testing (furnace tapping)
• Establish clear SOPs and ensure consistent testing across all shifts
• Conduct daily team briefings on priority samples and pending tests
• Manage leave planning ensuring no quality delays
• Performance management and skill development of 4-6 lab staff

Raw Material Quality Control

• Manganese Ore: Chemical (Mn%, Fe%, P%, S%, SiO2%, Al2O3%) + Physical (size distribution, moisture%, bulk density, fines%)
• Coke/LAM Coke/Steam Coal: Chemical (FC%, Ash%, VM%, P%, S%) + Physical (size fractions, hardness, reactivity)
• Flux Materials (Quartz/Quartzite/Dolomite/Lime): Chemical (CaO%, MgO%, SiO2%) + Physical (size gradation, LOI)
• Implement quick reject protocols for substandard materials
• Maintain vendor scorecards with zero tolerance for manipulation

Finished Goods Quality Control

• Chemical: Mn%, Si%, C%, P%, S% per customer specifications
